Meeting Raelan

Recently, it was my very great pleasure and privilege to finally meet Raelan Agle.

Raelan is the author of ‘Finding Freedom: Escaping from the Prison of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome’ (a publication I refer to in my own book ‘On a Scale from 1 to 10’) and the first person in over seven years of confusion, discomfort and suffering to shine a light on what could be afflicting me.

From the first chapter I knew, without at that time a professional diagnosis, that I was suffering from the same or a very closely related condition i.e. CFS/ME. There were so many references to symptoms and feelings that aligned with my own, and I owe this breakthrough to my wonderful, ever-loving and ‘extremely’ patient wife for locating Raelan’s book.

I wrote to Raelan immediately after reading her story, expressing my deepest and heartfelt thanks for showing me the path to recovery. In my email I referred to her as a ‘A Real Angel’ (an anagram of her name) - maybe it might seem a bit sentimental to some, but her book was so impactful for me, suddenly I had answers and a potential route out of my despair – maybe someone or something was looking out for me.

For anyone reading this post, I would urge you to visit Raelan’s YouTube channel to view interviews with fellow suffers and experts on the subject (see the link below). It is only through sharing our collective experiences and recovery approaches that we can ever hope to draw attention to this awful condition and hasten research into a cure. I have no doubt that the knowledge already gleaned will prove to be the key to resolving so many other mental and metabolic ailments that affect so many worldwide.

Raelen gave me the opportunity to share my own experiences, condition management and recovery approach in an interview recently. The interview will be available on her channel from the 10th July and I would love to hear what you thought about it, and any other interviews featured on the channel.
